Why join us

Members of Calgary Downtown have been giving back to our community for almost 60 years and have contributed millions of dollars to our chosen Calgary charity, Big Brothers and Sisters of Calgary, and many thousands to our National Progress Charity, Canadian Special Olympics. We and our partners have also engaged in hands-on service to our local food bank and other services aiding the less fortunate needing active support.

We work in a team environment in our club and with other local and national clubs. Striving to enjoy each other’s company, whether in our bi- weekly evening meetings, our Regional and National conventions and our fundraising events.

Friends for life is a natural result from our Progress associations. Our social and business sphere is expanded by working with like-minded, committed and caring individuals. Our socials and inter clubbing events provide opportunities to meet other community-minded Progressians.

Every Progressian is provided ample opportunities to assume leadership roles at the Club, Regional and National levels. While receiving mentorship and guidance from experienced fellow members, management of volunteers, board participation, public speaking, money management and idea generation are all encouraged.

Such as a child from a single parent family where every dollar we raise has a thirteen times positive impact on their life or a person with a mental challenge who can achieve a better, inclusive lifestyle in our community?
